The Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulations requires LPNs and RNs have a State of Illinois and FBI level criminal records fingerprint background check performed as part of his/her licensing requirements. We submit your fingerprints to the Illinois State Police and they are then sent to the FBI for processing. The results are then sent to the appropriate agency with the IDFPR. Typically, the IDFPR receives the results within 24-48 hours.
